A lot of the Perch are on the smaller side, but we managed quite a few 9-10 inchers with a few 11-12’s mixed in. The only problem with fishing in deeper than 33 feet of water, they are probably all dead. The smaller Perch and the BIG Walleyes cannot handle the rapid change in pressure.When Good Fish Go Bad!! $20.00 – 12-26-22. We returned to the ice after the break with an intent on finding some new fish and I think we did that, problem was, they didn’t want what we were offering. Four spots that we found had quite a few fish on them, they just weren’t really biting.This is a wide range right now as a lot of fish are coming, this will come with a very large range of depths as well. In the early hours of the morning, most of our Walleyes and Big Perch are coming in 9-20 feet of water and they are usually pretty aggressive. However, by about 10:00, that shallow bite has waned, and we are having to drift deeper.We recently experienced a large temperature change from -20 to 20 above and it slowed the bite for a day or so and then the fishing turned for the better.
