Yeah, you’ll need to use the melt stone to put your Claymore back to 0, then upgrade it to +3, then select “Crushing Claymore” instead of “Claymore +4” when upgrading. The Claymore is a large sword while the Greatsword is a very large sword. They're different weapon classes. The former swings faster and takes less stamina per swing while the latter swings slower, using more stamina and dealing a good amount more damage per hit. Just use which of the two you prefer.The Greatsword and Great Axe are very slow, and harder to use. They also have high stat requirements. The Claymore is nice because it has lower stat requirements, and Faith builds don't want to put too much into unnecessary stats. The combination of reach and swing speed makes for a really awesome weapon, although the moveset is a little bit less versatile than you might expect if you've used it in the other Souls games. If you find yourself in a drawn out fight where both parties are doing minor damage it can be a saving grace. I consider it a good strength weapon, i used it for most of my playthrough and was quite good, but in the late game i changed it for the Meat Cleaver and in NG+ i used the northen regalia but that said the claymore is good for most of the areas so for me it is a good weapon. So claymore is good I use claymore in every souls game it's a bit of a problem lol BUT I am not a huge fan of the claymore in demons, it's a little slow and I don't particularly like the move set because of lack of reach though it's very good regardless, if you're used to the quick swipes of the longsword it will take some adjusting, But whichever one you think is cooler is the one to use
