I do have the buckles on the straps covered with kayak grips but even just pulling the strap tight can cause a bit of noise on quiet days. The ropes also "slide" up and down on the tree easier once the stick is set so you can make a small adjustment here and there if necessary. The beast sticks are shorter and more compact, their less likely to catch on things while walking through the woods. Easier to hang. Also being shorter the bottom should be more snug to the tree.
